Italy has a long Mediterranean coastline and is known it’s culture and cuisine. Rome – Capital – is home to the Vatican as well as art and ancient ruins. Other major cities are Florence – known for the renaissance art such as Michelangelo’s “David” and Brunelleschi’s ‘Duomo’; Venice – is the city of canals and Milan – is Italy’s fashion capital. Tourists visit the country mainly for its richculture, cuisine, history, fashion and art, its beautiful coastline and beaches, its mountains, and priceless ancient monuments. Italy has may attractions for the tourists to enjoy e.g. The Colosseum in Rome; The Grand Canal in Venice; Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii; Leaning Tower at Pisa; Lake Como; Duomo santa Marie del Fiore & St. Marks Basilica in Florence; The Pantheon; City of Caprti; The Roman Forum and so many more attractions. Tourists have been taking grand tours to Italy starting from late 17th Century and tourism flourishes here unabated.
