Overview

Sikkim is a small but amazingly beautiful state of North-eastern India, almost all of the Sikkim is covered by the hills. The snow-covered mountains & lush green valley’s not only invigorates one’s soul, it also leaves the spectators bewildered by the extravaganza of its natural beauty. Sikkim has many beautiful lakes dotting its landscape.

Blessed with immense natural beauty, Kalimpong is surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks. It nestles at an altitude of 1250 m above sea level at the foothills of the Shivalik Ranges of Lower Himalayas. The city is a part of Darjeeling district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Darjeeling – also named “The Queen of Hills” is a charming hill station and one the famous tourist destinations in India, Darjeeling is a perfect mixture of the beautiful lush green hills, serene monasteries, eye-catching tea plantations and the amazing Toy Train.

Further making your trip even more exciting will be an excursion to villages and waterfalls on the way to Lachung. Take the ultimate journey to Yumthang Valley – the valley of flowers and Rhododendron Sanctuary.

Day 01: New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station / Bagdogra International Airport - Darjeeling (75 Kms. / 3 Hrs.)

Meet and Greet on arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/ Bagdogra International Airport and transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 Ft.). On arrival check-in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 02: Darjeeling Full Day Sightseeing with Tiger Hill

Early morning (4:00 AM) visit Tiger Hill (Subject to availability of Permit / Token) and then back to hotel. After breakfast, starting at 8.30 AM, visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Temple, Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 03: Darjeeling - Kalimpong - Local Sightseeing (77 Kms. / 6½ Hrs.)

After breakfast, transfer to Kalimpong (4,091 Ft. / 55 Kms. / 2½ Hrs.). On arrival check-in to your hotel. Afternoon enjoy half day tour of Kalimpong visiting Mangal Dham, Deolo Hill, Golf Course, Durpin Dara Hills and Pine View Nursery (Sunday closed). Dinner and overnight stay at Kalimpong.

Day 04: Kalimpong - Gangtok - Half day Local Sightseeing (108 Kms. / 7 Hrs.)

After breakfast, transfer to Gangtok (5,500 Ft. / 78 Kms. / 3 Hrs.). On arrival, check-in to your hotel. After that half day Gangtok city tour visiting Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre (Closed on Sunday and 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month), Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday), Dro-dul Chorten, Gonjang Monastery and Banjakhri Falls (maximum 3-4 hours). Dinner and overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 05: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (53 Kms. / 3 Hrs. one-way)

After breakfast, start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft. / 37 Kms. / 02 Hrs. from Gangtok) and further drive to Baba Mandir (13,200 ft. / 16 Kms. / 01 Hrs. from Tsomgo Lake). Evening back to Gangtok. Dinner and overnight stay at Gangtok. (In case of Landslide or any other reason, if Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing.)

Day 06: Gangtok - Lachung (116 Kms. / 6 Hrs.)

After breakfast check out from hotel with limited luggage and proceed to Lachung (8,738 Ft.) in North Sikkim. On the way, take a break for some beautiful spots that are worth seeing and visiting like Naga Waterfall, The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) and Lachung Chu (River) at Chungthang and Bhim Nala Waterfall. On arrival at Lachung, check into your hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 07: Excursion to Yumthang Valley (26 Kms. / 1½ Hrs. one-way)

After breakfast proceed to Yumthang Valley, which is known as Valley of Flowers (12,000 ft.). Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks and winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back, visit Hot Spring which is considered to have medicinal properties. Back to the hotel in the afternoon. After lunch free for individual activities, Dinner and Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 08: Lachung - Gangtok (116 Kms. / 6 Hrs.)

After breakfast, transfer to Gangtok (5,500 Ft.). On arrival, check-in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 09: Gangtok - New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station / Bagdogra International Airport (128 Kms. / 5 Hrs.)

After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and take the departure transfers to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/ Bagdogra International Airport for your onward journey.

Please Note: Due to strict security, you are requested to leave for the airport at least 4 hours before the departure time. You will have to pass 4 security barriers before reaching the airport. This often leads to long traffic jams right outside the airport.
